Deadly heat leaves a trail of death

There are a total of 17 deaths in the heat wave that struck New York, Philadelphia and Maryland.

This East Coast tragedy has stunned a number of people. The global warming has taken on lethal proportions.

Positive thoughts and solace from strangers' prayers are channelled to those affected and their families.

Prayers for the victims of Iowa tornado

The victims' families presently are mourning for their young loved ones.

We pray that the sorrow that engulfed them now will soon be forgotten, and their pain lessened.

Myanmar enters a desperate phase

It is indeed heart-wrenching to hear reports of Myanmar citizens struggling to find food on a daily basis.

We hope those who ruled that sad land with an iron fist will relent and allow foreign aid to come into the country, unimpeded.

God knows the desperate villagers in the interior are desperately in need of food, medicine and other essentials.

Sichuan calls out for mercy

Again we hear of strong tremors in the troubled region of Sichuan.
Yesterday, there was a 5.0 quake shaking up the confidence of those who have survived the big one weeks ago.

We continue to pray for those affected by the inherent dangers that still lurk around corner.

Strong quake shakes Sichuan again

The tremors began, ended and now has restarted in Sichuan, China.

Say a prayer for Burma

Even as these lines are penned, US ships off the coast of Burma are preparing to leave because the military junta has refused to allow army helicopters to land on their soil.

Who knows how many lives have been affected by this harsh decision? The aftermath of the cyclone that devastated the Irrawaddy Delta has taken a terrible toll on the land and on human lives.

As politics are being played out in this sorrowful land called Myanmar or Burma by others, the ordinary people continue to suffer and to die.

What a waste of human lives. Mercy has been extended but has been turned down, not once but 14 times, according to UN reports.
